A basic, simple approach to techniques and materials are important for designer Floris Hovers to communicate his vision and way of working. In his work, he is always looking for the basics, the simplicity and a balance in functionality and aesthetics.
He strives for work that is not complex by construction but holds enough to arouse astonishment and sympathy. Thus the products often are self-explanatory of how they are made. The ‘readability’ is essential in his designs.
After basic study in architecture and training in advertising and presentation techniques, he continued his studies at the Design Academy Eindhoven. In 2004 he graduated in the direction Atelier. Next Floris Hovers in 2006 started his own design studio.
